My journey in construction started back in 1991 when I started a construction company, which I owned for 27 years – so I know firsthand the chaos of job costing, subcontractor payments, and trying to figure out profitability while managing crews and keeping projects on track. I also owned and ran a healthcare staffing agency for over a decade (including several years of running both businesses at once!), successfully navigating through the 2008 crisis and pandemic.
Now I get to combine my construction industry knowledge with my QuickBooks Gold Tier ProAdvisor status to help contractors and builders make sense of their numbers through Hive Bookkeeping LLC. There's something special about working with clients who speak my language – I know what a change order really means and why job costing matters!
